From SFC J.R. (Iraqi Infantry Battalion Advisor), 6/11/2006...
"'Comfort items' are nice but the 'Snakes
are life-savers!"

"...I'm a squad leader in Afghanistan and would like to know if you could donate a couple of bore snakes for both the M4 (5.56mm) and the M9 (9mm)... We will be here for another 7 months. I have one bore snake and its the best way to keep our weapon barrels clean, its fast and very effective. Thanks..."

Subject:  Help

My name is Spc R. [name withheld]. I am currently stationed in Baghdad, Iraq. I am with the [unit withheld]. We are in serious need of cleaning supplies for our weapons. A friend of mine who is an Army Ranger told me about your organization and I was hoping you would be willing to help us out. We would appreciate anything you could send us. If at all possible we need bore snakes in calibers of 5.56mm, 7.62mm, 9mm, and also .45 caliber. If you could help us out with any of these items we would be very grateful. If not we understand that there are others who are also in need and we appreciate your efforts and thank you.

"...One doesn't have to spend a year in Iraq to know that Project Bore Snake will be uniquely appreciated by our soldiers over there. Give a fighting man a way to keep his equipment more at the ready, and you've made more than his day..."

Recently returned from a dangerous year in Iraq, Sheriff Printz served as an advisor to Iraqi national security forces in preparation for the difficult job they face.
